Barbados

Situated east of the Caribbean Sea Barbados is an independent island located in the West Atlantic Ocean.

Ruled by the British for over three centuries the country still retains Queen Elizibeth II as its head of state. The islands closest neighbouring countries are Saint Vincent & the Grenadines and Saint Lucia to the west and Trinidad and Tobago to the south.

The island is generally a low-lying area but has higher land towards the centre of the country and its highest point is Mount Hillaby located in St Andrew.
